Mother Mary – Immaculate Conception, December 8
A Poem by Sr. Juliemarie McDonald, SND
“And the Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us…” John 1:14a
Mary, Christ’s candle,
Child, a wondrous light.
Mary, gift giver,
Christ, her Gift delight.
Daughters of his Mother,
Spouses of her Son,
Gifted by the Spirit,
give now as one.

Love the image of Mary as the Christcandle! will think of this poem when I look at our Advent wreath.
“Daughters of His Mother”… how blessed we are to have HER and all of our Sisters!
Olivia, I was focusing on a candle and praying when I wrote this one. I like the image of candle. There are so many thoughts that act as a spring board for poetry.
Marilou, how true that Mary as a Mother to us is a great blessing. Juliemarie
