One More Thing

“You are lacking in one thing.”
(Mark 10:21a)

One More Thing

Jesus was calling the rich young man to a radical way
of living the gospel.
Not everyone hears this call, yet everyone at sometime
in their life hears Jesus’ command,  “There is one
more thing you MUST do.”

Do love your annoying neighbor,
Do forgive those who hurt you,
Do be patient with family members,
Do work for peace and justice,
Do keep the commandments,
Do avoid accumulating possessions,
Do let go of attachments,
Do serve others,
Do the “one more thing” that makes you Jesus’ disciple.

What is on your “honey do list”?
What is Jesus asking you personally to do?

For Reflection and Sharing:

  1. Why are possessions and attachments obstacles to discipleship?
  2. How does one’s will enter into discernment?
  3. Where does the examination of conscience fit into the “do list”?
  4. What is the “one more thing” Jesus is calling you to today?

Helen, you are right. Couldn’t do it without the Holy Spirit.
