in Ordinary Time

Holy Father, keep them in your name that you have given me, so that they may be one just as we are. (John 17: 11b)

A Prayer Poem by Sr. Juliemarie McDonald, SND, for the
Feast of the Most Holy Trinity, Cycle B
June 3, 2012

Unity of Trinity,
Father generating Son,
Spirit of their loving

Pure Act yet creating,
Baptismal  grace rejuvenating,
Redemption’s Host still elevating

One in mind, in heart and hand,
Quick to do, to understand,
Union of our wills with Thine.

There together at the breaking,
There together all partaking,
Of our Host that makes us

For Reflection and Sharing:

1. You all have friends. How did the relationship begin and then develop?
2. Why would Jesus pray that we become one?
3. Why is relationship and unity with God as important as knowledge of him?
