“But I say to you, offer no resistance to one who is evil.”
(Matthew 5:39a)

Surrender To Non-Violence

No resistance,
No revenge,
No retaliation.
Break bonds of violence.

“An eye for an eye only ends up making the whole world blind.” (Gandhi)

Find peaceful ways, non-violent ways to ward off evil.
Allow peace to flow like a river, changing course peacefully without struggle.
Let peaceful ways bring power to the powerless,
and nourishment for all creation with concern and care.
Allow this peaceful river to spill into oceans, seas, and bays of every land.

Scatter love and healing, like aromatic rose petals, from river banks of every land.
Fill the world with the fragrance of peace.

For Reflection and Sharing:

  1. What if governments surrendered to these peaceful ways?
  2. What if world-wide we erased the mentality of an “eye for eye”?
  3. What if every nation had a Department of Peace instead of a Department of War?
  4. What if parents taught by words and actions non-violent lessons to children?
  5. What if youth stopped bullying one another?

Dear Sister Juliemarie,
Thanks for your Spirit-filled Prayer Poem.
If we followed it, we would have HEAVEN ON EARTH!
With the help of God’s Grace, I pray each day for myself, Church, Country, Community and the Chasar Family ( 4′ C’s) that we will experience the PEACE JESUS CAME TO EARTH TO GIVE!

Dear Helen, it certainly would be heaven on earth! That’s what we pray for in each Our Father–“Thy Kingdom Come.”
