“We all live off his generous bounty, gift after gift, after gift.” (Jn 1:16)

Wrapped in God’s Love

“Go wrap yourself in the love of God,”

Become a package of peace in the midst of turmoil and terrorism.

Untie the bow of self-surrender; open the box.

With hungry hands lift up the gift of hope; open the box that lies within.

Wipe tears of gratitude from your eyes.

Plant a kiss on God’s cheeks, a rite of thankfulness.

The Kingdom is among you.

With the warmth of God’s love wrapped around you

Radiate the light of peace, hope and love—your gifts to a broken world.

For Reflection and Sharing:

  1. Why do we get so frazzled at Christmas time?
  2. How would God like us to be?
  3. Why can’t it be “calm and bright?”
  4. How is it that Mary and Joseph remained calm in their travel to Bethlehem?
  5. What would you have done if the inn keepers rejected you?
  6. What are some of the gifts that God has bestowed on you?
  7. What has been your greatest gift?
  8. What has been the greatest you have given?
