in Advent

First Sunday of Advent

“…you must be prepared, for at an hour you do not expect, the Son of Man will come.” (Mt 24:44)

For what do you wait?
For what do you look as you wait and wonder?
As you ponder these questions
…Be aware,
…Be alert,
…Be awake.
There is a longing as you wait for:
…a loved one to return home,
…solutions to injustices in the world. What finally awakes you?
What finally awakes you?
Perhaps in your wondering you find comfort in the past.
Perhaps wander around in and worry about the future
Are you missing the awesomeness of the presence.
This Advent what hidden presence of an already present God will we find as we:

For Reflection and Sharing:

  1. Why are you waiting?
  2. Why do we spend so much of our time thinking about past or future?
  3. How often to just peacefully sit and wonder?
  4. What finally awakens you?
  5. What will you do about it”
  6. What is so very special the present time that you sometimes forget?
