“Come away by yourselves to a deserted place and rest a while.”
(Mark 6:31)

A Unique Vacation Plan

Labor exhausts us physically, spiritually and mentally.
Knowing this, Jesus clarions a new call—come apart together.
He will lead the tired and weary to:
Green pastures,
Calming waters and
from clamor of crowds to quiet.

Who are the crowds you meet on a daily basis?
They may be family, friends, aging parents, bosses, co-workers, or customers.
(You fill in your own crowds.)

Even if you love your work and all those other crowds,
Your daily routines and meetings tend to numb and suck your creative consciousness.
Without this awareness we allow the inner child to cry, but its sound is muffled.

Where will you find the quiet place to rest and relax with other disciples of the Lord?
Where will you find like-minded people of God to invite you to vacation?

You might respond with, “I’ve never a taken vacation with God and other disciples!”
Right! This is not a routine kind of relaxing, but a new plan and new kind of recreating.
This coming apart and resting is a physical, mental and spiritual vacation renewal.

Happy and safe vacation planned by the Lord.

For Reflection and Sharing:

  1. Where and with whom will you vacation?
  2. What creative and spiritual thing will you spontaneously do?
  3. How is this new plan of togetherness spiritually connected to daily routines?
  4. What might change in your life after such a vacation?
  5. Have you ever checked out on Google places like this? They do exist.
